RIKA Climate Combined Ceiling Ventilation is a negative-pressure ventilation system that combines a diffuse ceiling with controlled ceiling inlets and roof-mounted chimney fans.
The system is designed for temperate climate zones, where ventilation needs can vary considerably between cold and warm periods.
During colder periods, fresh air is drawn through the open surface structure of the diffuse ceiling. As the air passes through the ceiling panels, its velocity is reduced, helping to minimise drafts in the pig house.
When temperatures rise and greater cooling is required, automatically controlled ceiling inlets provide additional airflow and a higher chilling effect. Roof-mounted fans maintain the negative pressure required for controlled air exchange throughout the system.
The RIKA Climate 108 climate computer adjusts ventilation according to indoor and outdoor temperature, ventilation curves and animal age. Optional humidity and CO₂ monitoring provide additional climate data.
The system also includes alarms for power failure and incorrect temperatures, with battery backup for temperature-controlled emergency opening.
